Hocus Focus L.A.

Hello fellow Buzznetters! Had a pretty interesting week/ weekend so far.  First off my cousins came down from Texas for fathers day which we celebrated on Saturday.. OH MAN. I started drinking at the bar at 11am and did stop until we came home from Anita K's graduation party.  I was still gone the next morning... I couldnt even drive. Anyways.. It was amazing seeing Anita and Arlen and the others at the party.  I shot Arra malek and Pebbles Dangerfield this week so far.. and I have a Shoot with Jenny Lynn coming this Thursday.

Photo Tip: Dont be scared to experiment. Even if you think you are shooting the worst image ever, just keep shooting. Learn from your mistakes and keep going; you never know what you will get out of a shot until you take it!

I can seriously listen to this band forever. The music is so catchy and full of life. Definitely a favorite.

 

I was asked give some tips on event photography.  Here are some.

1. GET PAID

2. Take alot of photos. Even if they are bad angles or catching someone off guard. They make the best images for event photography.

3. Be careful if people are drinking around you. People that are drunk tend to spill their drinks on you in tight spaces.

4. USE a FLASH!

5. The only editing you should do for event photography is adding your "TAG".

 

So who is going to see Transformers 2 ? I grew up with the toys and the cartoon and I am obsessed with Transformers. However!!!!! The only bad thing about the movies is the cast. I believe there are more talented actors to play the major roles besides the transformers..

 

I am finally out of school for the summer! One more year.. HELL YAH! Anyways, I havent really done much this past week.. I finished editing two shoot and now I am currently editing a set of Arra that I shot this last Friday.  I need to start booking shoots up the ass so I can be more active.. I love just walking around taking photos of random shit.

Random Thought: Have you ever been so hungry that you end up not eating because your hunger passed.  I was sooooo hungry this morning.. and I decided to go back to bed and sleep.. then when I woke up i wasnt hungry at all! haha

 

So I got sick on Sunday after the Laker game. I went to bed and woke up at around 3am throwing up. I think I have the flu? But tonight (Tuesday) I am currently just being harassed by a runny/ and stuffy nose. ITS SO ANNOYING. I got up like 3 times to get tissue paper withn 4 minutes. Like. WTF. Anyways, I have 3 shoots this upcoming weekend. Whoop whoop, and its my last week of school and Im out for summer.  All I have left is a final for my perspective drawing class. AWE its so boring, but very useful in what I want to do. New photos of Pebbles Dangerfield will be posted soon!

Random Thought : Have you ever looked at a computer screen for so long that your vision has been blurred? It happens to me all the time. My eyes start burning and I cant focus!?! Argg.

So this is my first photogBLOG! Woop Woop. I decided to finally do some typing and tell alittle about myself and things around me.  I got tired of just uploading millions (not really) of photos I shoot and retouch... This is probably the most typing I do outside of Tagging my photos or emailing clients. Haha.

This week has been fairly tedious and long. Its ONLY Wednesday! Damn. I have two more weeks of classes and I am booked with shoots on my days off.  I still have 2 sets of photos to edit. One of Loriel Andrea and one of Jenny Lynn.  I have upcoming shoots both Friday and Saturday so far. Whew hopefully they turn out great :].

Photo Tip : When shooting a live object or non-living object.. shoot the subject, then go in for a tighter more closer shot and try to fill the frame. You will feel that the closer  picture is more satisfying to your eyes.

Random thought:   Have you ever played Wii so much that it hurt your arm?  I was playing Wii sports.. the bowling... and I would throw it as hard as I could.. and now my right arm feels like a monster ripped my arm off. Haha. Got any funny Wii stories?

This morning I had a shoot with Arra. It went quite well. We shot two concepts. One was for MARIALIA and the other was an outfit of her choice.  Really nice girl to shoot.  After I shot I ate a great teriyaki bowl :]

 

 

Finally I am getting shipped a new strobe to shoot with. Its been awhile and I would always put it off..

 

Another shoot tomorrow! Woot Woot.. I had to go to Michaels to gather some props for tomorrow.  Get ready for a suprise:p

But anyways.... I woke up today all hungry at Lias house.. and now I am waiting for Kelly to get here so we can go to the shack.  We usually get shitfaced there at like 11am but times have changed and it takes us too many drinks :/  SO WE START AT MY HOUSE! haha The shack burger is amazing...it basically melts in your mouth and the explosion of flavor tingles your body uncontrollably.  Well till next time :P

That title has nothing to do with my journal. I had a photo shoot today with Gina from San Deigo.  Such a rad chick... she reminds me of Ava Bremen.  We had 4 concepts today and 2 of them tuned out amazing and the other 2 will look great but were kinda spontaneous. My babe MARIALIA helped me out using a reflector during some dark shots I had to take but they turned out fabulous!  Pics coming sooon!  Ohhhhhhhh its like 8:03 pm and I am 7 beers down and I tried wathcing disaster movie..... can you say LAME? WTF so fucking dumb.  <3

So I get up today hungry as fuck. I want Taco Bell again :]  Luckily there is a burrito in my fridge! 





I had school at 1pm and had to paint these Value Study things for the Nightmare before christmas.. It was a drag let me tell you!!



Now I am home about to eat some sushi with the family.. and playing gears of war with my 6 year old cousin! Its brutal pawnage :P

Well I just got my teeth cleaned and they are very slick and smooth feeling. Love it.  Currently drinking a Dr. Pepper and eating a Cheesy Double Beef Burrito.. Ymmmmmmm!

Off to school! then to Lias parents... :p
